Step 1: Home Infrastructure¶
Purpose
This section documents the home network, internet service, smart accessories, and connected devices at Statler. The goal is to ensure someone can maintain, troubleshoot, or transfer control of these systems.
Audience
Primary: Hope or whoever is managing the household. Secondary: Anyone helping with network or device troubleshooting.
What this section covers¶
- Internet service — ISP account (Spectrum/Charter), modem, and how to restore connectivity
- Network equipment — Ubiquiti router, Synology Wi-Fi, and admin portals
- Wi-Fi — Network names, passwords, and reconnecting devices
- Smart accessories — Apple TV, HomePod, Nest thermostat, Philips Hue, NanoLeaf
- Printer/scanner — Ricoh IM C300 setup and scan-to-email
- Equipment inventory — Full device list with IPs, hostnames, and credentials in Appendix A
Prerequisites¶
Before starting this section, complete Step 0: Prerequisites to ensure you have access to Bitwarden (where all network credentials are stored).
